Tribute to Russell E. Horn, Jr.



Russell E. Horn, Jr.Beginning his career as a sales trainee and aspiring to hold various executive leadership roles at both PACE Resources, Inc. and Print-O-Stat Inc., Russell Horn Jr. embodied his father’s (Russell Horn Sr.) legacy of serving as a devoted leader. His intricate insights of the business, from entry level to executive board level, allowed Mr. Horn Jr. to follow in his father’s footsteps and continue PACE Resources’, Buchart Horn and Print-O-Stat’s dynamic international growth.

Mr. Horn Jr. began his career with PACE Resources, Inc.’s subsidiary company, Print-O-Stat, as a sales trainee and served as a sales representative, manager, vice president and executive vice president throughout his career until ultimately being elected president/treasurer of Print-O-Stat in 1977.

In 1996, Mr. Horn Jr. began serving as president and COO of PACE Resources, Inc. and held the position of president/CEO until being elected chairman/president/CEO of PACE Resources, Inc. in 2001. He also served on the Board of Directors and as treasurer for Buchart Horn and Print-O-Stat , and he was the managing director of Buchart Horn GmbH, Germany.

As a long-time business executive in York, Mr. Horn Jr. dedicated much of his time to nonprofits in the community, including American Red Cross, United Way of York, Boy Scouts of America, and events such as York Octoberfest. He has also worked with York County Economic Alliance and Penn State-York Community Gifts Division, and volunteered with the York High Alumni Band.

Along with being a dedicated member of his community, Mr. Horn Jr. served his country for nine years, as part of the U.S. Army Security Agency (ASA), the Army’s signal intelligence branch, during the Korean and Vietnam War Era. He worked as an analyst, field first sergeant, watch officer and instructor at the Army Security Agency School. He was also a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion, and he had memberships in many other veterans’ organizations as well. His military service included two tours of duty in Germany and a tour in Korea.

As PACE Resources, Inc. continues on its path to national and international success, we will remember the passion that Mr. Horn Jr. brought to this company and will continue his and his father’s vision and legacy.
